Sapna’s passion for helping people turn their unique gifts into meaningful global contributions and her commitment to living a generous life, have guided her leadership as the (former) Executive Director of imagine1day, an international not-for-profit organization focused on supporting systemic changes in Ethiopia’s public education system. For over eight years since its inception, Sapna built and led imagine1day in designing and implementing community driven education and leadership programs, which now provide access to quality education for over 100,000 children across Ethiopia annually. Underlying Sapna’s approach to community development is a core belief that at the heart of any transformation, be it of a community, a nation, or a system, are people with a commitment to a healthy and prosperous future. Her work focuses on developing people’s leadership and regenerative capacity to equip them as the owners and stewards of their development initiatives, so that they may solve their challenges of today and create the tomorrow they know in their hearts is possible. Sapna is a Chartered Accountant by profession, and prior to commencing her work in the international development sector, she spent the first 12 years of her career with KPMG LLP, working across practice areas including assurance, corporate finance and international taxation in Canada and Brasil.
