COVID-19 in Mozambique

mburhardtNews

As COVID-19 sweeps the globe, it’s important you know how things are going in Mozambique. The Legado community has been so encouraging and supportive through this unprecedented time and dozens of people have reached out concerned for the wellbeing of the communities on Mount Namuli and Ribaue.

As of late April, there have been less than 100 reported cases of COVID-19 in Mozambique. Our field team, partners and community members are aware of what is happening around the world and are highly attentive to the global pandemic.

To protect the health of the mountain communities with whom we work and our team members, we have reduced our time in the field and are prioritizing socially distant program work at this time.

We are as committed as ever to serving the communities we work for and are looking at how we can support these Sky Island communities through this crisis and how to prepare to help these communities recover after the threat of COVID-19 has passed.

Your continued support and encouragement through this challenging time means so much to myself, the Board, and our team. We will get through this together, and I am grateful to have you in our corner.
