Juliet King, Kenya Partnerships Advisor
Juliet King was born and brought up in Kenya and has a PhD in Zoology from the University of Western Australia. For the past 22 years she has been working in northern Kenya on wildlife conservation with a focus on community conservation. Juliet began working with the Northern Rangelands Trust in 2005 and for the past 17 years has been instrumental in supporting Community Conservancies to better manage their land, wildlife, forests and seas. Juliet’s passion is empowering indigenous communities, working alongside communities to design and implement appropriate tools and methods for improved natural resource management. These have included community-based ecological monitoring systems for wildlife, rangelands and fisheries. Recognizing that good governance is the foundation of successful community-based organizations, Juliet has worked to support inclusive governance and management of community conservancies across northern Kenya.
