Natasha Mulenga Hornsby

Senior Manager of Marketing and Communications | Spain

If it takes a village to raise a child, Natasha was raised by multiple villages in different corners of the world. She spent her early childhood in rural Zambia before growing up in the UK and Nigeria, and later living in Germany and Spain. This global perspective has shaped her professional life and underpins her deep belief in the ability, knowledge, and leadership of local communities to solve their own challenges.

Natasha joined Legado in 2026 as a communications strategist focused on advancing evidence-based approaches to complex challenges, while promoting women’s agency, youth economic opportunity, and community-led solutions.

Before joining Legado, she led communications at Educate!, one of Africa’s largest youth employment organizations, shaping thought leadership and partnerships around education reform and livelihoods across East Africa.

She was previously Senior Communications Adviser at the conflict prevention organisation International Crisis Group, focusing on Latin America, and led national campaigns at the UK’s Commission for Racial Equality to advance diversity across business, government, and civil society.

Her career began in journalism at Independent Television News in the UK, Spain’s El País newspaper, and the HELLO!/¡HOLA! media group. Natasha graduated from the University of Oxford and holds a Master’s in Broadcast Journalism from Cardiff University.

Outside of work, she founded @1000blackwomen, a storytelling platform featuring women sharing their lives and natural Afro hair. She is often camera in hand—capturing street interviews, documenting demonstrations, or bringing people together to celebrate Black culture. She lives in Madrid with her family.
