Kayleigh Mencia is an international development and social impact professional who brings deep cross-sector experience in international development, fundraising, and strategic partnership to Legado. She has a proven track record of driving significant revenue growth and securing long-term institutional support, working across multiple regions and with organizations at various stages of growth.

Kayleigh joined Legado in August 2025 as Director of Development after four years with Village Enterprise, where she most recently served as Director of Grants. She helped expand institutional funding and partnerships, supporting the organization’s scale and sustainability. She also deepened her expertise in developing strategies for institutional giving and securing long-term partnerships for mission-driven organizations.

Originally from just outside Washington, D.C., she holds a BA in English Language and Literature from the University of Maryland and an MA in Nonprofit Leadership and Organization from Belmont University.
As Director of Development, she leads efforts to grow and diversify the organization’s funding base, ensuring the long-term success of Thriving Futures and the communities Legado serves.
