Liz Corbishley becomes Legado's CEO on January 1st, 2027, bringing two decades of experience helping mission-driven organizations turn bold vision into sustained impact.

The thread running through her career is a straightforward commitment: understanding what communities actually need, finding what genuinely works, and figuring out how to get it there — at scale and with staying power. She is energized by connecting the dots, navigating uncertainty, and helping teams to be their best.

As Legado's Executive Vice President since 2024, Liz has worked alongside the team to shape the organization's strategic direction. She is excited to take on the CEO role at this pivotal moment in Legado’s history, beginning a new era that builds directly on 12+ years of community learning.

Before Legado, Liz spent seven years as Chief Strategy and Partnerships Officer at Village Enterprise, a poverty graduation non-profit that grew fivefold during her tenure. She attributes that growth to deep listening, a commitment to innovation, and partnerships built on trust rather than convenience. Earlier in her career, she held leadership, fundraising, and partnership roles across East Africa and the UK — including five years based in Tanzania, where she developed an enduring conviction that listening and laughing across cultures is a lifelong practice. A growing frustration with how funding flowed in the development sector led her to do an MBA — and although she didn't end up in the private sector, she remains convinced that non-profits have as much to learn from it as we have to teach.

Liz has spent the past 15 years living in East Africa, and is now bringing up two Ugali-loving boys.
