Looking Ahead: 2026 and Beyond
What’s next for Legado in this key time of global co-creation and action:
We’ll be working with the Taita Taveta Wildlife Conservancies Association (TTWCA) to bring our community-led Thriving Futures approach to support communities in two conservancies in Kenya’s Tsavo landscape. The partnership will support communities to define and implement their own long-term priorities for change—setting the stage to expand the Thriving Futures Process to 33 more conservancies in the region.
We’ll continue to build partnerships with key new partners that support Indigenous, Afro-descendant, and local communities across Southern Africa, Central America, and Oceania.
We will continue actively building a pipeline of strong potential partnerships with values- and mission-aligned organizations. This will lay the groundwork for reaching our goal of launching 4 to 5 new partnerships by 2027, and of working with 250 communities alongside 19 partners by 2028—representing the stewardship of 1.3 million hectares.
